Frequently Asked Questions.
Why do I want to increase my Amazon & BookBub Followers?
Good question! Here are a few reasons:
1) Your Amazon & BookBub Followers receive email alerts whenever you have a new book for sale.
2) BookBub also sends New Deal alerts to Followers when you feature a book on their site, helping to increase the success of your promotions.
3) The more notifications readers receive about your books, the more likely you are to stay top-of-mind and generate sales!
What kind of results should I expect from the promotion?
Since these are new promotions, the data is a bit raw, but most authors are reporting at least 100-200 new BookBub followers… with some seeing as many as 500 or more!
While Amazon doesn’t provide Follower data, readers have also been keen to connect there, such that we estimate Amazon results to be roughly the same, if not slightly better.
What kind of book should I promote?
While we don’t recommend promoting books that are already free, anything else is fair game.
Since you’ll be promoting the giveaway primarily to your own audience, choose the book that you think is most likely to excite them to participate and share the contest with their friends.
Recommendations include: New books, the latest book in a particular series, and higher-priced box sets.
How do readers actually sign up for the promotion?
Readers sign up via a contest page hosted on our website www.BookSweeps.com.
I want to participate, but my genre isn't on the schedule. What should I do?
If you have a group of 10-20 authors who’d be interested in the same promotion (or we see equal interest via the form above), we can put something together just for you!
How do I track how many new followers I gain on Amazon & BookBub?
While Amazon doesn’t currently provide authors with data regarding the number of Followers they have, fortunately BookBub does.
To track your BookBub Followers, log into your account and visit this link here.
How many winners do I send a book?
Our contests only have two winners, so you only have to provide two copies of your book (unless otherwise noted).
Can I participate if I'm a traditionally published author?
Yes! Promotions are open to both traditionally published and indie authors.
What's the best way to provide books to the winners?
If I recently participated, when should I sign up again?
If you recently participated in the Amazon section of a certain genre, try BookBub next time – or try a Follower promo in a different genre that’s a good fit for one of your books.
We generally recommend spacing out promotions of a similar type by 2-3 months for best results.
